The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering provides a rich environment for undergraduate and graduate study, supported by stimulating education and research projects that span a broad spectrum of modern applications.
Research activities are carried out both through interdisciplinary research centers in each of these areas and by individual faculty programs. They lead to the solution of modern technological problems and the training of students in the state-of-the-art, while at the same time resulting in fundamental advances in the underlying disciplines of structural engineering and structural mechanics, hydrology, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, building system and construction engineering.
